Yes he would have to pay as long as she takes it to court and file for it. She would put in a petition and the court would give her a copy of the petition for her to get someone to serve it to him, then he would have to go to court and the judge would order him to pay child support in an amount suitable according to his income and if he has other children to support. Even if he is in another state, she can ask for an interstate proceeding and they would have the papers served to wherever he is (within the US of course and even Puerto Rico). His name does not have to be on the birth certificate because my son's father's name is not on the certificate, but he still has to pay. We were all tested and it showed that he was the father and he has to pay. If she is not working and goes on Public Assistance, Social Services will file a petition for child support because as long as they are supporting her and the baby, instead of him, they want to be reimbursed. She would then get only $50 out of the child support payment besides whatever help she is getting from Social Services. If she ask the judge to have her payments issued through the Child Support Enforcement Program, she won't have to find him whenever he stop paying or starts acting like a fool, they will keep track of him and to every time he stops paying, he will have to make up for all those missing times and when he do his taxes, anything owed to her will be taken from that (which means he can lose all of it). He can not hide from the government because they know everything we do. If he goes outside the United States maybe to an international country, then he can not come back to the US or they will get him and he can go to jail or have to pay all that back child support that he owes. If he is not working, the judge will put him in a program which will help him to get a job. He can not run from his responsibilities once that child is born. I know all this because this is what I went through with my child's father. He slipped once thinking he will just stop paying and he regreted it because I got his whole tax return one year. Believe me, he never tried that again. When a child reaches 18 years of age, he does not have to pay anymore, UNLESS, the child continues on to College.

Yes, you do still have to support the child. It was BOTH your decision to have sex. It was BOTH your decision not to use protection. So, you BOTH must take responsibility. You can't blame her. I don't believe in abortion unless you were raped, so do the right thing. Theres a consiquence to every action.

Yes, he should have thought about all that before he had sex with out a condom. And why would any "man" not want to support a life that he created? That is really heartless.

Yes, he was there to help make the baby, so he is equally responsible. Unless the mother wants the guy to give up all rights to the baby.
