Larger selection of products when you want them if you buy from a live representative that comes to your home. I have done a home business in the past and it can be daunting. Lots of paperwork and record keeping. Your friends probably not only want you to sell these products to help you with extra money but think about it, they will get more money for having you under them.

First of all, the people that sell the make-up on Ebay are doing so against the contract they signed. Second, I think you need to research both companies to see which one would work better with you and your personality.
Mary Kay believes highly in feminism (you are required to wear a skirt and hose to all functions and parties), and they also have high beliefs in religion. The products are great.
Arbonne is a little more relaxed and they don't really use religion as an aspect of the company.
Personally, I am more impressed with Arbonne because they do not do any testing on animals. You should talk to consultants with both companies, ask lots of questions, and make a heartfelt decision.
Good luck, I think being a consultant can be so much fun and you meet so many people.

First you need to decide if this is something that you really want to do. No matter which you choose, you will need to invest time & money. Tell you family & friends that you are thinking about selling both and ask if they would be interested in buying either product. They will be your base client list so if no one is interested, then you will have to work hard for clients. If you decide to go ahead with it, make sure you choose the product you really like & will use. If you can't get behind what you are selling you will have a really hard time selling it.
Another poster wrote "Mary Kay believes highly in feminism (you are required to wear a skirt and hose to all functions and parties), and they also have high beliefs in religion."
This is not true. Mary Kay does not require you to wear anything specific. You are your own business owner and you make the rules. It is encouraged to wear a skirt & hose but there are lots of consultants that wear whatever they want. I've even held parties in jeans based on who my audience will be. Also, the company has a philosophy of faith first, family second, career third. That's it. There is nothing about religion and you may choose to accept or deny the philosophy. It is your business after all.

I have tried to do the Mary Kay and others and it is just a hassel. love the product and use it but no time to sell. Maybe different for you though, I would rather buy from a person then from Ebay or any other site. Convience to me would be best.

You can't sell it on Ebay, and people should not be buying it on there either. You can always sell it on the side, no need to quit your daytime job to sell these products. You can always give it a try, and if you don't like it as long as they don't make you buy a bunch of products upfront then you can at least try.
Best of luck,
Angela

Go for something totally out in left field and bring them on board with you. I am selling energy drinks. You and your friends can now not only look good but feel good at the same time.

You are already hesitant about it and you say you may not be good for it..I did the same thing with Amway because a friend talked me into it...worst thing I ever did and I felt as though I was bugging people with this stuff and I usually was I suppose, because they bug me when they come to me..I think it is for certain people who are sales oriented and or love to try swaying people to do things they do not want to join or do...dropped it as soon and as quick as I got it. and besides, your friends will drop you as well as your family as they can only buy so much from you...it's like your kids bring home stuff rom school to seel...FAMILY first and friends....not for me and sounds like NOT for you either.

I think you should tell your friends that you just aren't interested in selling on the side. Tell them that your full time job is all you want to do at present. Do you think your "friends" would be so interested in getting you to sell their stuff if they were not going to profit from it?
