I have a 3month old baby girl who has real big cheeks and they are getting dry and red not sure what I should use on her face. I never used anything on her face but plane water.

The same thing happened to my daughter. I don't like it cuz it's messy, but Vaseline worked best on her skin like that. That's the best thing for dry, chapped, red skin. You don't need to use a whole lot, only a little and rub it around. Like in the morning and before bed. Or at least just before bedtime.

The best stuff is aquaphor. It can be found in the lotion aisle. They are now selling it in the diaper rash aisle too. Aquaphor is vaseline like lotion that was used for extremely dry skin, but so many people were using it as a diaper rash cream, that they started to put it in the diaper rash aisle too. It is the same stuff, the one in the diaper rash aisle is just in a different container. I use it for diaper rash (recommended by my peditrition) and for my kids eczema. It works wonders in the winter. I put it on their faces before going out in the cold and their faces don't end up red and chapped.
I also use a lotion called vanicream. Go to the pharmacist at your drug store or even department store (I know Target carries it) and ask for vanicream. I can buy a big jar for $11. You do not need a prescription for it, but they put it there since it is used for people with bedsores and such. It has no fragrances and doesn't interact with other medicines that may need to be put on the skin. It is just wonderful. It has really helped my kids with their eczema.
Oh and don't use soap. The soap is drying out her skin. Save the soap for heavily soiled areas. Also don't give bubble baths, it can irritate and dry out the skin as well. Bubble baths can also contribute to urinary tract infections.

A lot of people are saying the same thing...Aveeno baby lotion. That and you can try Eucerin lotion...I had to use that on my baby all over. He was born 11 days late, was a 10 pounder, and for some reason he was dry all over. It worked great. good luck!

My 1 year old son has severe eczema. I tried this stuff Super Salve. I found it on line and it has worked great. It like Vaseline but has more natural ingredients. They make it near the Colorado River, and people use it for wind burn and chapped cheeks after hiking and boating. I just love it. www.supersalve.com

use vaseline, it helps keep the moisture in. I have used it and it works wonders, especially on dry chapped cheeks. Or use some kind of baby lotion with aloe vera in it.

Aveeno baby is the best! It works wonders on my daughter and always has. Stay away from all the fancy scented lotions for babies now. They are all scents and oil, nothing good!
