I have a job, my grades are still good, everythings fine, I'm 21 and all that good stuff. I don't care how unhealthy it is, and yet everyone hassles me about it. I just want to sit on the couch and drink beer, thats my thing. Some people like sports, some people like music, I like to drink beer. Why do people bother me about it?

"Drink.....we have not yet begun to drink"

"We are a band of brothers.."

Those people dont know what they are talking about, if the hangover came first drinking would be considered a virtue.

That doesn't make you a bad person, welcome to the flock, I get the same crap from people and my work doesn't suffer, I don't want any kids or a wife to beat. Being single allows me more disposable income, I chose to dispose of it in the form of bartabs. There are a few issues involved: 1) It's unhealthy for you physically. 2) It's unhealthy for you mentally. 3) It's bad for you socially. If other people care about your health, your sanity, or the fact that you can't go out because you get obliterated on your sofa at home every night, then that's why they're bothering you. It's just because they like you.

I used to feel the same way : ) but sweetie that makes you an alcoholic BUT it is your biz as long as you handle everything you are supposed to do and aren't one of those angry drunks..I know ppl who can drink allot every night get up out of bed and go to work ..I on the other hand cant do that so everyday is not for me
and if people are hounding you about it maybe they see something you don't maybe they feel like you are depressed or they want to motivate you to do more productive things..If they are approaching you about it don't get mad they just care!

Go ahead and do what you like. No one stops you. Unfortunately when you are young and strong physically, you can not foresee what is in store for you as you age and get in to late thirties or early forties, when gradually your past (so called)sins catch up with you. If you drink too much you might fall and spill your beer.

Now that is alcohol abuse.

Think of all the poor kids in Ethiopia dieing for a beer.

Drinking too much beer is not good for your health. You are lucky that you have people warn you about that. They care about you and maybe it is time for you to drink less.

Just care for others, your liver and yourself and all else will be fine. Others would feel that being drunk is like being asleep, but I think you can become as aware as you need to under all consciouss states.

I would also read Boudelair and would be proud to be a drunk.

Can't answer your question directly, but I'm a rare girlfriend who likes it when her boyfriend drinks.. he's much sweeter that way.. but I worry all the same. He's a big boy though, and he makes his own choices, I suppose.

Hey if it don't make you ill, have a ball, and if it don't make you fat go for it. I once drank it first thing in the morning.. It's a good feeling at first.
Then the liver started hurting. Good luck.
