That actually sounds like the Shakespeare play "King Lear" and not a fairy tale. King Lear was a king who asked his three daughters how much they loved him and the youngest told him the exact same thing you said and she was thrown out of the kingdom.

Definitely King Lear, but Shakespeare draws on old themes. I seem to recall a similar theme in a fairy tale called "The Salt King" I could not tell you who wrote it though...

The story is like King Lear - Shakespeare. The king's daughter tells him:
'You have begot me, bred me, lov’d me; I
Return those duties back as are right fit,
Obey you, love you, and most honour you.Why have my sisters’ husbands, if they say
They love you all? Haply, when I shall wed,
That lord whose hand must take my plight shall carry
Half my love with him, half my care and duty.
Sure I shall never marry like my sisters,
To love my father all.'
He casts her out because she refuses to flatter him like her sisters do

quite a lovely script....like a daghter loves a father......the world takes what is beyond them wronge usually...........a daughter has an everlasting, unconditional love for her father...........nice........................it was as if the father threw her out so she could prove that what she said was indeed what was in her heart.......................thow shall be persecuted in the name of love...for in that death ...you shall take your life( love )back up. ................
