A & D ointment is best, it keeps the area moist and protected, if by chance you get a reaction to the A&D then try using antibotic ointment any brand will work.

Triple Antibiotic ointment, while it heals.Lotion and sun block after healing.
They make an ointment now that is just for tats.It works very well, allows your tat to breath, keeps the ink from bleeding to much, keeps the scab moist, and doesn't rub off as easy.

Also,it's important to keep your tats outta the sun.Especially while healing. After healing is important as well,as UV rays bleed the pigment out,and cause fading.
I try to put sunblock on mine as much as possible.

If this is referring to after getting one: I've used coca butter lotion and A&D ointment, they have both worked fine for me.
After they have healed: I always apply sunblock to them when I go to the beach to keep the color.

they should sell tat ointment at the place where you got it. It has hemp in it and works well!
