I'm 27 years old, married and pregnant with my second child. This pregnancy has been astoundingly different than the pregnancy with my first.

My problem is that I am getting rather bad varicose veins in both my legs; some of them have even burst and left behind nasty spiderweb like black marks (bruises). To start with... I don't have time to sit back and relax at many times during the day -- I'm a stay-at-home Mom with my 10 month old who recently started walking. I get rest time when she gets nap time and when my husband comes home from work (an hour before baby's bedtime) -- he goes to work before she gets up to start her day.

My question is ... Have any other Moms out there had this problem or similar to it? Are there any suggestions to reducing the vericose veins that I already have or to preventing more later on as this pregnancy progresses?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Im 30 the mom of 4 so I know where your coming from, find a health store like the ones who give medical equipment to homebound patients i know its crazy but stay with me.They will have these stockings called peds. they use them for preventives for blood clots on bedridden patients they are very very tight but they make them for pregnant women so u can wear them while u r pregnant and afterwards my last baby is 8 months and mine still bother me u can get them on line too at any medical supply place they are a little pricey but well worth it because we all know the rest and prop your feet up advice is for the birds. good luck!

Theres nothing you can do about it. Its the extra blood and weight from the baby. Even if you arent on your feet all day you can get them.

There are nursing hosery that you can buy, that are specially designed to fight leg fatigue and pressure, they can help reduce the likelyhood of serious vericose viens.

Other than that... its just part of pregnancy.

Wear good shoes.
