Q"/ Major Boothroyd played by Desmond Llewelyn appears for the first time. This character was played by Peter Burton in Dr. No (1962). When Burton was unable to return for this film, the role was recast with Llewelyn in the part. Llewelyn would reprise the role of "Q" in 16 subsequent Bond films (17 performances in all, but he didn't appear in Live and Let Die (1973). It was the most times a single actor has played the same role in major motion picture history.

ON TV

James Arness played Marshal Matt Dillon throughout its 20-year run, the longest uninterrupted period any actor has played the same role in the same show in prime time. (Kelsey Grammer has since tied the role-playing record as Frasier Crane, but that role spanned two different shows, Cheers and Frasier

Richard Belzer has played his detective character on Homicide Life on the Street, Law and Order, and Law and Order, SVU. In the movie world, you'll probably have to go back to the black & white movies, for instance; Sydney Toler played Charlie Chan in God knows how many movies. There was a lot more of that back then.

My guess would be Robert Englund as Freddie Kruger.
I think all the Friday the 13th and Halloween sequels had different people playing the masked murderers. And how many movie sequels are even near the amount of these horror flicks?

I think that would be Kelsey Grammer who played Fraiser Crane on both "Cheers" and "Fraiser." He played that part on those two weekly television shows for almost 2 decades.
