i heard a while back that if you wiped your number plate with certain cosmetic product then a speed camera cannot pick up your plate number. is this true and if so what product is it that is used?

just for curiousity..

No, it's definitely not true. The Washington Post ran an article about this a few years ago and found that nothing really prevented the photo from capturing the plate. They tried two sprays and a plastic cover. Although the plastic cover gets you a more expensive ticket in most states - so you spend $65 for one ticket to prevent you from getting the $50 ticket.

It is true that there are sprays that you can spray onto your number plate to reflect the light from the flash,back at the camera. If caught using these though you will be done.

do not do it the cops have high tech things to read anyway. plus if you get pulled over the cop will for sure give you the ticket no matter how nice you are
