I'm a Republican. My gut feeling is that the Democrats will snatch the House while we keep the Senate. Just a guess.

It is too close to call, but I do think there is going to be a power shift towards the middle. For one thing we keep reading the GOP ducking the key issues, they are living in the past, they don't want to address the future. That is going to hurt them.
Does it matter? Yes, in the long run it does. Bush and the current crop of GOP hardliners are hurting the US. Usually we have people in office that are just a few degrees off center, these guys are far right.

I'd like to see the Republicans keep both houses. I'd say the House is a toss-up, or leaning Democrat.
I do think it makes a difference, on several issues.
