Truth.

The truth may knock the ego down, but it will also allow the ego to calm down and grasp a new identity.

"Stupid" is an insult. It can mean nonacceptance based on intellectual intelligence. Sometimes, it indicates that a "Intellectual Person" (Book Smarts) doesn't have "Street Smarts" ... again separating ppl based on intelligence.

To heal the wounded "Ego" the person insulted can eithor: 1) Ignore the insult or, 2) Improve themselves or, 3) Wallow in self-denial & have a pitty party(not recomended).

If you're the insulter, you can find positive things about the person you've insulted ... stay with the truth ... otherwise, they'll build their ego up on false stuff, and get hurt again.

the ego is more of a hindrance than a help most of the time. let it go. this is only a hurt that you imagine, not a real one.
you do not have to accept every gift that is offered to you. if somebody says something cruel, do not admit it into your heart. then you will see that the person who made this offering is talking much more about him or herself than about you.
many hurt, angry, and confused people wander the world offering gifts of poison to those they meet. they hope to be rid of it. but it is theirs. not yours. if you want to help such people do not do so by taking the name that should be theirs. let them see that what they are hurling at you is really their own weakness, and you are strong, then maybe they can learn how to be strong themselves, and they may do some good in this world. perhaps even become a friend to you one day.
let the wounded ego die. it only builds walls, closes you in, makes you fearful and insecure. a big ego is not a sign of strength, but of weakness.
keep breathing the fresh air. it flows into the body from the outside, then back out again in perfect rythm. it is both a conscious and unconscious process. the breath can build bridges and bring calm, peace, and understanding into the world. when you recieve these nips, be aware of the breath. why does it catch and quicken? relax, regulate your breath, and the evil words will flow out of you and away from your body. don't hold it in and let the foul stink strangle you.

What words heal the wounded ego? Which indicates a person realizes they were wrong about something? Simply to admit they were wrong, and go on...Just leave it alone. That way you still have a sense of pride left.

if you truly desire to "heal wounded egos, your own included, perhaps the following study will provide information in picture form you might not have yet considered.

while i typically support the premise that we control our actions and consequently our reactions, there is evidence which suggests a somewhat different theory. using words is very powerful, and here is data which should cause us to think and speak more thoughtfully:

the following link is from the website of a japanese scientist, dr. masura emoto. his initial book "beyond words" includes research into the power of words.

his studies have revealed some very interesting results. his work begins with the fact that we humans are primarily comprised of water. water being a source of energy, can neither be created nor destroyed but it can be transformed...

with this in mind, dr. emoto has conducted experiments using water and studying it's reaction to various stimuli by observing the resulting ice crystal formations. if you ever wondered what effect words (and music) have, i think this experiment provides an interesting and tangible representation. if we are primarily comprised of water, these types of reactions might very likely occur in our bodies too.

click on the presentation to see what love looks like, or angel vs satan; melodic music vs. heavy metal, and what "fool" (a little less harsh than "idiot") looks like...

our thoughts and then our words can and do become real and tangible. these experiments and photographs by dr. emoto are thoughtful evidence.

the entire presentation is here: http://www.globaldialoguecenter.com/gallery/exhibits/wisdom_water/index.shtml

As I was walking up the stair I met a man who wasn't there, he wasn't there again today, I wish I wish he'd go away.

You are only wounded if you give others the permission to do so. Your inner self is wordless and priceless.
