Freedom is an illusion. I was just thinking about this the other day. If you work a job under someone else you get a paycheck, but you're still a slave to the person who hired you for the work. You just get treated a bit better than the slaves of before. Even being "free" as you are you're master is consequence. There isn't one place in the world that someone can believe anything that they want without criticism. You will pay dearly someday for your actions today. Living without a care in the world will end. And you will have nothing to hold you up when it happens. Go to school. You're living life as though it's a freefall. You'll freefall alright. Don't listen to my advice if you want.....I know you won't. When your teeth are rotting into your head and you're body is falling apart but you have no health insurance you'll regret it. If you're rich from your forefather's hard work then you're lucky. You could live however you like. How many of us are that fortunate? And even rich people have to be responsible so that they don't lose their position. I hope you don't have kids.

In the world? In the physical plane of existence, freedom is probably the most important thing to have, and money is a close second.
Many Americans have lost their lives fighting for freedom, and not for greed, land, or power. Freedom, or an absence of fear of being ruled by government thugs who make up the laws at their discretion [which is the case in communist run states or in dictatorships].
Be thankful to live in America, if that is where you live? There are many places on earth today where one can be easily "lost".
As to the "follow my heart" approach to life, if your heart wants what is legal and accepted, and you have plenty of money, then why not?
If following ones heart means placing a burden upon others, then its probably not good.

Free will is always best when it within good reason and does not harm anyone, if you are following your heart and pursuing your passion, you have a very good night's rest.
If this world was the opposite of freedom, and held everyone in capitivity or no one was able to do what they wanted, how depressing would that be!
Now that would bad!

Freedom must come first. Without freedom, there is nothing else you can do, since everything else would be merely someone else telling you or giving you permission. Therefore without freedom everyone would be either slaves or servants of some authoritarian person or persons. In both action and thinking. All else in the world follows from our freedoms. This is why freedom is so important.

Freedom is a wonderful thing I believe. However in my opinion being and giving love is the best thing in the world. Bohemian/gypsy lifestyle or not nothing tops the feeling of love.

YES. I would say it is one of the best things in the world. There are things like ability to hear, see, feel, etc. But Freedom is one of them. And not in every country people have it. But would never ever want to leave in those countries and be "a slave".

Freedom is the best thing in the world, but it is only one side of the coin; with freedom comes responsibility...
