My blood work states I have elevated protein. My doc wants me to see an allergist. What's the connection?

I was told that the elevated protein might be linked to a chronic infection and that I should see an allergist. Can anyone give me their insight. I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

Most allergens are protiens of one sort or another. Causing constant inflammatory response by the body, lowering the immune system and leaving you wide open to anything that might be going around.
An allergist should be able to differentiate why you your body's protien levels are high and recommend treatment.
