I have a real estate agent. A guy drove up and asked me how much I am asking for the house. He told me he called the number on the real estate sign and did not get an answer. I thought this was so I called the number and left a message. No Call. I had several friends and family members call and leave a message, still no return call. What do you think this might be a symptom of? Obviously something bad.

Id say cancel your listing agreement with that agent and either find a better one or look for a buyer yourself on craigslist or buyerhunt. If you find a buyer that way you might be able to save yourself the 3% that you wouldve paid on commission anyway. . .

I work in a title company and this sometimes tends to happen. A lot of real estate agent get 3% of the commissions and absolutley do nothing. In these cases I have to go directly to the client directly which is absurd since you the client is paying the agent for this reason. If you do not have an exclusive listing with this person you can probably get another real estate agent.

Hope this helps

Tell your agent you want to take it off the market. If they give you a hard time about it, tell them they're not doing their job and if they don't let you out of the contract you'll go to whatever-state-you're-in real estate commission and file a complaint against them.
