Young women today often spend ten or 15 years on the oral contraceptive pill before they decide the time is right to stop taking it and have a baby. Although many women will fall pregnant immediately, for others it may take significantly longer. It may even take a while for them to restart their periods. They worry that the Pill may have reduced their fertility, while forgetting about the years of painless regular periods, and protection from pelvic infections and unwanted pregnancies.
They can be reassured that experts are agreed that 'There is no evidence that the Pill causes infertility'.
Menstrual influence
Most women who had regular periods before starting the Pill will find that regular ovular cycles return within six months of stopping it.
Yes, it is best to test morning urine samples, since they will be higher in the hormone deposits from building up overnight. Given the above information , however, I would not be rushing to toss good money out for a pg test kit, yet. Wait, and have faith, God will place that baby when the time is right, and you will know soon enough. Best Wishes!

I was on the pill 3 years. It took me 3 months to get pregnant when I stopped taking the pill. You could get pregnant earlier or later but I would wait until after you miss a period to take a test. I took a test in the A.M. the week of my missed period and it was negative but the next week I tested positive. First thing in the morning is when the pregnancy hormone is detected strongest. My doctor had me take 2 home tests before making an appointment because they dont trust the home tests.

You could possibly be pregnant but there are chances you aren't as well. Sometime when you come off the pill after being on it for so long your cycle will be thrown off. I would wait and see if you actually miss your period and then take a test. That way if you are not pregnant you will have not gotten your hopes up so high. If you do decided to take a test the morning, first pee, is the best time to take a test.
If you are not taking prenatals I would suggest starting since you are wanting to get pregnant/ are pregnant.
Good Luck!

Being on Birth Control for 10 years is a long time. It will take some time for your body to get back to its normal cycle. However, that doesn't mean you can't get pregnant right away. Although some tests claim you can test any part of the day, morning testing is recommended because the urine is more concentrated and acidic and will show HCG Hormone moreso in the morning than after you have urinated several times throughout the day. Good luck and also, start taking the Prenatal Vitamins while you are trying to conceive. It will give you Folic Acid that you need while you are pregnant and before is just a jumpstart with taking the vitamin.

First bathroom pee is best.
But your jumping to it to fast.
My boobs got really sore before i missed my period there are other signs out there.
Not to mention if you have been on the pill that long it might take a while!! It dont always happen the first time you try. You only release one egg a month.
It might take some time if you have been on the pill 10 years they dont reccomend that. They often want people to take a break from the pill after so long.

I was on the pill for 13 years when my husband and I decided to try to have a baby, my doctor told me to give myself one regular cycle before trying to get pregnant. She said it wouldn't hurt anything if I got pregnant right of way, but that it was just recommended to wait one cycle. My advice is to wait until you are two weeks late before taking any test. Your body will not act the same as it did on the pill; so give it some time to adjust. Every woman is different. If you don't start on time, wait two weeks and take a test; if the test is negative, call your doctor. My doctor had to give me a pill to take for seven days to get my first period off the pill to start. Good Luck!

I wouldn't take a pregnancy test until you miss your period - at least by a few days. It can take your body a few months to get on a regular cycle once it realizes you're not taking the bcp's any more.
I always took pregnancy tests first thign in the morning, but my Dr. told me that it's not necessarily the case. If you have the hormones in your body, you'll get a positive pregnancy test any time of the day.
Be patient with conceiving, it doesn't always happen so quickly. And enjoy the effort it takes in making a baby! LOL!
Good luck!

It is best to take the test first thing in the morning. I don't want to sound discouraging, but it may be that because you're comming off the pill that your periods will change. They may not be as regular, or you may bleed more or less. Really it's a guessing game at this point. Good luck though!!!

Wait at least a week after your first period is due to take a test. Sometimes the body has to adjust after taking the pill so be patient. Good luck.

yes, it is possible you are pregnant. although, after going off the pill, your body will be off kilter, and may not be regular for another month or so.
first urine of the morning contains the most hormones, yes, ...but now a days, the pregnancy tests are so advanced, than anytime is fine.
