is there any difference, or does it just come down to the individuals genetic potential.

It is a little harder, after 40 a little more, after 50 impossible,
and if you do not manage after 60 be prepared for a heart
stroke.

Lot of factors involved. If you maintain an active lifestyle and eat right it can make a difference. You get married and some woman cooks you all these great tasting but fattening meals it gets tough to keep the pounds off.

Unless they work very diligently at exercising, men and women have more difficulty losing weight as they age because their metabolic rate slows. It is part of the aging process, and only exercise will raise metabolism sufficiently to assist in weight loss.
