Spaceman - Honestly, read the question again. It's a simple question with nothing more than a request for others to give me their opinion. I've exposed none of my own opinions yet, because I first chose to be informed. How about you????????

It all depends on the question. You may receive 3 or 4 intellectual responses along with a bunch of 1 liner dumb a..ed responses.
I'll wager you, that if you ask an intellectual question that takes time to respond (not canned stuff people have saved to append multiple times) you'll be lucky to get 3.

I think that on a scale of 1-10 (10 being most intellectual) I would give this site a 4.

There are some 8's and I have had the occasional 10. Mostly I agree with 4's. But there are 1's and if it's a politics questions you even get some -3's.
Myself I answer my opinion or what I know, but I won't do any research at all.

Depends on the question. If your question includes a disparagement of any group or political party or philosophy, expect very little in the way of intellectual response, because it deserves none.
If is it a serious question, then it will likely get a high rate of serious responses.

I think it will depend on the question that you ask. For the most part, people on here are pretty smart. It doesn't mean they always use their brain to answer questions though. Some people are only out for the points. It also depends on who's online at the time. You never want to ask a question when the school kids are online.
Good luck!!

I try to give serious answers... but I gotta tell you, there are some dim bulbs on this site. So sometimes the best I can do is start out "YOU BIG DUMMY".
But you will receive your share of silly replies, and a few will be good ones. Of all the questions I've looked at, there always seems to be at least one excellent reply.

It's kind of like driving down the highway, you will be interacting with the whole IQ range that is out there. Luckily here, although you may have many different qualities of answers, you are free to choose which answers to embrace.

This is dependent upon which category you use. I have received some very high quality answers in the health/fitness category, as well as real estate and legal. I suspect true professionals answered. I also received some answers that would best be described as "kindergarten."
