It's Robert Stack character Rex Kramer. But Rex doesn't beat up only Hari-Krishnas, he also takes down the guy promoting Jews for Jesus and I believe the guy asking to thwart nuclear energy.

it was the main character. the ex-pilot guy that wound up landing the jet liner at the end of the movie... i forget the actors name though, very funny movie, a classic!
