I love that attitude!
The same attitude that killed the yankees!
let me give you a little clue.
They do NOT hand these things out on a silver platter.
One must go out and actually EARN it.
But, go ahead and be cocky and arrogant.
I hope it's your downfall
and that the mets lose horribly!

Love the arrogance against the Mets and we, their fans. The Mets are the best team that remains in the playoff hunt, even without Pedro, who has been out for quite some time, and Hernandez, who was a late season pick-up. The Mets have eaten alive all the teams who were supposed to beat them.
Keep putting faith in players like Carpenter, Suppan and Todd Jones and see how far it takes you. What about Jay Paton and Marco Scuttero, Mets cast offs. Get into any of these teams bullpens and watch them fold.
Whoever said Billy Wagner hasn't done well in the second half is nuts, he's been quite good since mid-May. The Mets are 79 and 4 when leading after 6 innings, and have the most come from behind wins in the Majors. The Mets earned their position as favorites, if you don't think so you are deluding yourself. If you have no fear of the Mets, then either you know nothing about baseball, or you're in dreamland.
Yes Cujo, I have seen the Mets pitching. Have you? I seem to remember the back half of the rotation handleing the Yankees winning 2 in a 3 game series. Not to mention the Mets beating Rivera, Izzy, and Hoffmann all in save situations.
Good pitching beats good hitting, but it takes great pitching to beat great hitting. There isn't much great pitching, or even good hitting (besides a player or two on the other three teams) remaining for the Mets to face.
Mets over Cards in 5, over the Tigers or A's in 5

The only team that can stop the mets is the mets. Its all gonna come down to how well their pitching staff holds up against the cards. But thats just to get in the world series, they wont win it. The other two teams in the AL have way too good of pitching

yeah the mets. cliff floyd may be out too. dont forget julio franco is 75 years old. how much can he contribute? they beat an overrated dodgers team. besides every team in the NL West was overrated. Would have been a different result had the mets faced houston in a five game series? think about it petitte, clemens and oswalt against glavine, glavine and glavine. mets arent that deep. the tigers and st louis are.

i don't think of the Sox cursed the Yankees, i don't think of Babe Ruth particularly cursed the purple Sox. i've got had a confusing time believing that an entire business enterprise's mess united stateswould have been traced decrease back to one guy who did not even have something to do with the purple Sox mess united statesas quickly as he hung up his uniform. yet he's gotten blamed mutually as the purple Sox are becoming off the hook of finished accountability for dropping. So what, can we factor the finger now to the purple Sox now on each and every occasion the Yankees lose to the Orioles? i don't think of so. i think of the Yankees have found out that money can not purchase you chemistry, and it could not continuously get you that formulation for placed up-season fulfillment. I additionally think of that the purple Sox did not "curse" the Yankees by making use of beating them in 04, they simply only beat the Yankees. i don't think of that the Yankees circulate to the international sequence this season the two as long as further and extra communities have become competative in the AL, and that i say Toronto and Baltimore would particularly get extra valuable in the seasons to return to create extra stability in the AL east.

Yeah, the Cards, the Tigers and the A's. The Mets are going to be hard pressed to win back to back best of seven series with the pitching they have right now.

I've been reading some of the responses to this question and it seems that alot of people think that there are 3 teams that can stop the Mets, but in reality, there is only 1 team that will stop them...THE CARDINALS!!!!

Obviously, you have no understanding of what is meant by a "short series," where outcomes are unpredictable.
I heard the same stupid things said about the Marlins not having any chance in the 2003 playoffs, and countless times before then. Will people ever learn?

The Tigers defeated the Yankees so it may be a 7 game victory for the Mets.

The A's are pretty f-ing hot right now. I thought, after the Angels rolled over them in those last regular season games, that the A's would get swept by the Twins. Instead, it was the other way around. They have some serious swagger right now. If they get past Detroit, watch out!
