Everyone feels sad or gets down from time to time, but sometimes it’s more than that. Sometimes, it can be clinical depression.
The signs and symptoms of clinical depression are:
Persistent sad, anxious or "empty" mood
Changes in sleep patterns
Reduced appetite and weight loss, or increased appetite and weight gain
Loss of pleasure and interest in once-enjoyable activities, including sex
Restlessness, irritability
Persistent physical symptoms that do not respond to treatment, such as chronic pain or digestive disorders
Difficulty concentrating at work or at school, or difficulty remembering things or making decisions
Fatigue or loss of energy
Feeling guilty, hopeless or worthless
Thoughts of suicide or death
If you experience five or more of these symptoms for two weeks or longer, you could have clinical depression. See a doctor or qualified mental health professional for help, right away.

If you are feeling like this please trust me and take the following steps and I can almost guarantee that you will not be feeling like this in a couple of months:
1. Exercise. I am talking about hard vigourous, exercise on a regular basis. Without doubt the BEST cure for depression.
2. Start some hobbies, get new interests, set goals and dreams but only small ones.
3. Read Eckhart Tolles 'The Power of Now' and a 'New Earth'. These books are an essential guide to release you out of your pain. Nothing to do with religion or anything but a guide to being free in life, free from mental human pain forever.
4. Learn how to relax (Meditate, warm bath anyway you can) and spend 40 minutes a day doing it.
5. If you can have a long holiday in the sun.
Believe that life can change and I am living proof of that. I used to be suicidal - now I am very happy.
Thanks.

You are thinking of depression as something that occurs when you cross a certain line of sadness. This is not the case. There are degrees of depression and what you are probably meaning to ask is "Am I suffering from severe depression." Without knowing more about you, I cannot answer that question. What I can offer is the answer to depression, and that is plain, oldfashioned hard physical labor. The longer you sit on your butt, the more time you have to think about the past and about all the bad things that have happened. Since it sounds like you are in your early twenties or a teenager, you are just now starting to fully mature and you may be seeing things for how they really are (because you are thinking on your own and not just believing everything you have been told). It is a good thing to 'find yourself' but you just wont feel good about yourself until you stop sitting around for so long that your mind leads you to places you don't want to go. Get up and do something!

it's really easy for me.. if u are not happy with urself, then u r facing depression.. do this each day.. it's easier.. take it one day at a time.. and more importantly, do not relate yesterday's depression with today or tomorrow.. i guess the purpose of ur question is to overcome depression and from the way u pose the question, normal depression systoms will not help u out... also, remember that is happens to all of us.. u r not alone...

When you don't want to do social like you used to enjoy ... when you lose interest in activities you used to enjoy ... when everything irritates you without a reason ... when you have big troubles concentrating ....
