I don't find it on the net, but that doesn't mean it's not legit. but the problem may also be that you've received Spam from a criminal type who is using hte BCH name for nefarious deeds.
Check the ways in which they want money or the things they offer as proof. Do they have an address in Ireland? (This would prove who they are but n ot fool proof) Do they ask for Western Union Payments? (A big flag for scammers as scammers only want WU Payments since they can pick them up anywhere in the world and appear to be from Ireland)
Lastly, if you are truley in doubt, delete the email and mov eon with your life. No need worrying about such things.

No, definitely a scam. It is some loser who is hoping to get free money, or, preferably, your credit card number. This is what he does for a living. Real charities wait for people to come to them and advertise on T.V. They do not send people spam because it is against the law without your permission (CANSPAM Act).

this could be legit but ask for tax id and phone and address and check with tax persons in Ireland.
if you are from USA and know Katrina victims still many homeless and 90,ooo many of them disabled homless in los angeles alone why are you worried about ireland?
many scammers see you have certain name and create a charity for your ethnic heritage as a scam..
be careful and wherever your home, invest at home!
