WMT is not a good stock to buy now - WMT looks right now like it has hit a saturation point. If you are looking for stocks to buy for the long-term you really need to do your own homework. That said I have three stock that I have owned for more than 10 years now in my portfolio and I continue to buy more on each of them when I feel the price has dipped enough to make them cheap. The three stocks are GE, XOM, and PEP. I you are looking to buy as a buy and holder I could not recommend three stocks that are better - however, I think that XOM and PEP are a little pricey at the moment. To learn more about these companies follow this link at yahoo finance: http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=GE,PEP,XOM&d=s

Check out these
they are relatively inexpensive and pay a very good dividend...
IAF, IFN, RNE, USA, ASG, GIM...
If you are investing for the long term, I might suggest that you have the dividends reinvested....this groupings' average dividend will double your investment in about 7 years...[assuming that their dividend rate stays about where it is]

as far as individual stocks that are cheap but might do well....
look at TTWO, THQI for games
JNC and JNS for possible takeover bids
ADG and RGR for war

good hunting!
