Only you know the answer to this one really, you are in the relationship! you should have a sense of knowing if the time is right. Were you both previously married? Do you have children? If the answer is yes to the affore mentioned, he may just want to keep things simple, it doesn't mean he doesn't love you. Maybe he wants an easy life. Chill out be happy together, marriage is only a piece of paper after all. Hope it works out for you whatever the out come. X

Do you really need to get married. You've been together for 5 years! I think it's safe to say he's not going anywhere anytime soon. Marriage is just an expensive piece of paper and a huge party for your friends. If your lucky you might get a few nice gifts.

I knew someone that dated for 17 years. Didn't even live together. They had no reason to get married.

Do it subtlety, ask a question or somehow get into conversation if you can just to see what he's reaction will be but after five years you should know where you stand, if he doesn't want to get married and you do at least you have somewhere you can start from and work from there but at the moment you are in limbo not knowing what he thinks about the subject.

If marriage is what you want then by all means bring it up. I'm surprised no mention of it either for or against has come up in 5 yrs. Think about whether it is really what you want first.

I think you should go out together for a drink or a meal and just ask him in general conversation what he thinks about marriage whether he has considered it before. He may be scared to ask incase you wernt ready. Once you have had a chat u will knw by the way e reacts. go for it you never know e might surprise you. Good luck.

nicely in the beginning, solid for you adult men for being so super approximately keeping the planet. on your suggestion, you may forgo the handcuffs, yet do get a hoop, and bring flowers. As for the variety of ring, because you do no longer prefer to pass with diamonds, why no longer make it yet another birthstone? Or the stone of the month you're presenting...or getting married? Engagement jewelry now are a number of varieties and colorations so which you quite have lots to make a choice from. i could accept as true with pearls for a hoop selection, yet they require slightly extra TLC particularly if worn on a on an popular basis foundation. So i decide directly to advise a coloured gemstone. maximum suitable of success to you!

I think if that is what you want, finding a way to bring up the topic without having him feel pressured is a good idea
