I think they have a better shot then some teams. remeber the people ranking the teams only look at who they like once the BS rankings come out they could move up into the top 10 and then they will get some hard looks. plus if they go undefeated and the rest of the league loses a game or two they should be able to get a good ranking that way. remember USC has to play ND and Ohio has to play Michagan, both teams could lose those games and put Rutgers in a good shot for the nation title. but the early ranking help the undefeated teams like ohio and USC it's easier to stay then it is to move into the 10 spot. and for all those people laughing remember where Rutger was 2 years ago and this is why college sports are good and it may mean a playoff system.

Rutgers has played a tougher schedule than their Big East counterpart (UNC, Illinois, Ohio, South Florida), West Virginia who are ranked 5th. (Marshall, Eastern Washington, ECU and Missippi State), Louiseville has only played one previously ranked team (Miami), but their schedule other than that game hasn't been much better. (Kansas State, Middle Tennesee, Temple).
Rutgers played Howard, a real pushover, but beat them 56-7, as they should have. They have games against Navy, Pittsburgh and Louiseville coming up. WVU plays Syracuse (who lost to Pitt and barely beat Illinois), Connecticut and then Louiseville. Of the teams WVU has played, ONLY Maryland has a winning record at 3-2.
So, no, Rutgers definately won't win the National Title because they could go undefeated, beating WVU and Louiseville in the process, and still won't get any respect from the BCS and polls.

Won't happen unless they go undefeated including betting Uof L and UWV and all other unbeaten except one loses. But then they would have to beat that team (hopefully OSU) and I just don't see it happening.
My personal prediction is that Rutgers ends the season with 3 losses and out of the top 25.

i think that if Rutgers is going undefeated, (such as a victory over WVU- their final interest of the season), they deserve a shot on the nationwide identify against Michigan or OSU. yet there are a number of one loss faculties obtainable; Texas, USC, Auburn, Florida and so on. regrettably, all of us understand how the BCS works and those huge-call faculties continuously get precedence, and it rather is somewhat conceivable that a one loss college will bypass to stand Michigan or OSU for the nationwide identify and Rutgers would get disregarded. If that happens, i visit be dissapointed. yet i'm rooting for them. i'm finding on the schedules for the various one loss faculties and that i'm hoping that their is somebody who would provide them 2d losses. Like this weekend, Oregon ducks play USC..and that i in my opinion think of the ducks can pull this off. I agree, ..if the BCS provides Rutgers one probability, and that i mean one probability on the nationwide identify, i understand they gained't be dissapointed.

Under the current BSC formula their chances are .0001%. Maybe at some point the NCAA division 1 will want to crown a real national champ and they'll finally go to a playoff system like every other divison in the NCAA is doing.

They are ranked #24. That means that #1-23 are better teams.

No they will not go undefeated , they have to play WVU & Louisville. Although they may beat Louisville they will not beat WVU. WVU will go undefeated and win their bowl game although it may not be the national title game.
Lets Goooooooooooooo Mountaineers!!!!!!
