truelaw@s... OK never throw your seed into the wind, never judge people, the church teaches that a baby is just that when it created you are falsely judging good luck.

What I can not understand about the Republican party is the conundrum a young pregnant girl facing this choice finds her self facing two social ills by the republicans.
(1) If she has gotten the abortion she has offended the party
(2) I f she has the child and has to draw welfare to support the child she is stigmatized by the morals of the republican party.
Like it or not women face a very heart wrenching decision here and Government sanctioned morality is not the answer.

99.99% of the people who are pro-choice completely agree with your concept of abortion. Being pro-choice doesn't make a person pro-abortion.
The idea behind pro-choice is that the federal government has absolutely no right to pass laws regarding moral issues. The only issue concerning the federal government is at what stage of development does the fetus become a person and is protected by the constitution.
They answered that as best humans could. When the blood hits the brain, the fetus becomes a person in the eyes of the law. Once the heart starts pumping, the fetus is considered a citizen of the U.S. and cannot be aborted.
Pro-choicer's feel abortion is a states' issue, not a federal issue. I think the Roe v Wade decision can be overturned today, which would put the issue back to the community level.

The problem is one group (pro-Life) wants to argue that life begins at conception, while the other group (pro-Choice) argues that it doesn't. I do not believe life begins at conception, and this was the ruling of the Supreme Court in Roe vs. Wade.
An arguement about abortion appears in Carl Sagan's Dragons of Eden. He argues that if abortion is murder even if done immediately after conception, then a man who masturbates must be prosecuted for mass murder: all of the sperm which has been denied a chance to develop into a human being has been killed. Sorry if it offends, but it is following the same line of thinking.
I could accept that when brain functions begin, it could be construed as murder, since this is when death is usually defined by doctors.
I also believe that anyone who is opposed to abortion and refuses to adopt an unwanted child is a hypocrite. Dear Abby brought this statement up in her column once, and I fully agree.

HEY rt66lt
and all u others that don't think its a baby till it has brain waves and a heartbeat
One argument is the definiton of life and death. Death is looked at there being no heartbeat, but when you really think about it, once a child is formed in the womb, you will here thier heartbeat by 18 days old. You may say no death is described as when there is no brain waves. Babies have functioning brains at 40 days old. The unborn child also feels pain as early as 8 weeks old. The fetus also has a genetic patterns different from the mother and a set a fingerprints all to its self.

You are absolutely a nut. There is no death in abortion. God takes the soul of the fetus and saves it. It is God that gives eternal life for all his children. You couldn't kill a fetus, because you do not have the power of God.
If you believe there is death in abortion, then quote the scripture that supports what you say. I believe you will fine that there is nothing in the bible to support what you say. And the Bible is clear, those who interpret the Bible is such a way as to subvert the will of God will burn in hell for their sin. I feel certian that you will not be able to support what you say. I pray for you that God will have mercy on your soul.
Again, if you have any proof that abortion is killing, then post it. I can go through the Bible verse by verse and prove that the common quotations you have seen posted here before are simply untruthful statements pulled out of context. So if you have something new, and you won't, I will change my mind. Otherwise you will have to deal will Christ in the next coming.

Let's take away the choice and go back to coat hangers in the back alley. That will be neat.
If you are against abortion I would have to asume that you willing to help the family pay for raising the child, clothing it, educating it and watching it so that the mother can go to work and have a decent life. I think it is great that you are willing to do this for so many people that can't afford having a child and aren't educated or mature enough to keep from getting pregnant.

All decisions are choices, but the debate isn't about choice, it is about abortion. I'd like to see honesty on both sides. Partisans should label themselves pro abortion or anti abortion. Maybe then we could have an honest debate.

Many people believe...IE, HAVE FAITH...that a human embryo either does not have a soul or is not technically a child until it is able to sustain life outside of the mother's womb. In other words, the cells that make up the embryo do not have sentience or consciousness or a "soul" emparted to it upon conception.
Since it is not technically alive, yet, it cannot be murder.

yes sorry to say the femminist movement of the early 70's is responsible for genocide against our nation, comfortable with sucking babies from a womens vagina in pieces as it rips there arms and legs from there bodies..or better yet partial birth where the baby can definately live away from the mother where they stick a 12"spike in the back of there head and suck there brain out! they now have this down to a choice of economics instead of if the mother is in harms way..somthing is wrong with people who kill a million babies a year don't ya think?

OK, here goes: "It's a choice."
It's not murder under the law. Nor is shooting someone in the head who is trying to kill me.
If your personal beliefs don't allow for that choice, then you don't select that option. But even then, you've STILL made a choice whether you like it or not.
