I think the Yankees keep Joe Torre because of Derick Jeter. Jeter stated in one of the interviews on FSN when the intevewier asked what happened if Joe Torre get fired from the yankees. Jeter said "I dont know if I can play for anybody else but him" I think "The Boss" watched that interview and afraid to upset Jeter since Derick Jeter is like "God" for the Yankees and the Yankees fans.

Its funny how the owners blame the coach or managers for team loss, me i don't think its there fault, but the players fault. The players play, they make there money to play. Torre is a good coach he should stay, can't blame him for his first round knock out. Blame the players its there fault but i guess thats what happens when you spend 200 million dollars, you expect to win all the time, but it shows that pitching wins and thats what detroit had. Sure its nice to have all sluggers but it takes a team effort and not individual play. I found that the yankees always tried to hit that homerun, wanted to be the hero, that is individual play. Yankees have to many guys that hit homeruns, they need a guy who plays small ball gets on base, steals bases, they need better pitching. they got old guys they need new arms and younger guys cause know team are gonna trade younger guys for a old fart and the yankees have them, they need to rebuild. They gotto stop taking big sluggers cause most of the time they don't work out. To answer your question they shouldn't keep Torre cause of just one player, jeter is only good cause of the players he has around him, put him on a team that loses all the time and see if he can do the same. Winning makes you look good

I think the Yanks keep Torre because he is a good manager who has been saddled with a bunch of old guys on withdrawl from steroids and other undetectable chemicals. Jeter knows that. Put Jeter on any team with a competitive roster and he'll get them to the playoffs. I do not think he could do anything much for the Devil Rays, but even Baltimore might win the series with him.

Good for Jeter - it's nice to see a guy stick up for his manager, instead of throwing him under the bus like so many athletes do.

As for Torre, I don't think he deserves to be fired. Granted, I think managers in baseball are way overvalued and have very little to do with winning or losing. As I've said before, Torre has done a great job winning with baseball's highest payroll over the past 10 years, just as he did a good job of losing in many positions before then.

If he can the right thank you to play midsection container or 1st base, then yeah, particularly. If not, he'd extra valuable stop the decline in his stats, using fact by making use of then he must be coming off a .215/9/seventy six 12 months. definitely. however the Yankees will ought to shop him besides using fact he's Derek Jeter. they're going to in all possibility attempt to make him circulate away like the Sox did with Nomar, Pedro, and Manny. yet they gained't have the skill to do it, not purely using fact he's so often happening, yet using fact they are the Yankees and that they are purely stable at spending money and not the rest. they're going to finally end up making him the only approximately finished time DH, leaving a gaping hollow of their lineup and propelling them to their first final place end in extra desirable than 15 years. Oh, and he will in all possibility get Joe Girardi fired alongside the way using fact he would be blamed for the decline. Sorry Yankee followers. stable success with that.

Jeter probably said that Torre was not the one who was hitless io the series or threw to the wrong base or could not find the strike zone. Torre is a good manager and cooler heads prevailed.

it's one or the other...they either keep Joe Torre and trade Alex Rodriguez for some pitching or they keep A-Rod and fire Joe. They are basically going to have the same team and that means they will have the same result unless someone else is coaching them.
