Oh please....Hugo the Clown's own people dont even like him.............Read news item from OCt 8.

Thousands of people marched through the Venezuelan capital yesterday in a show of support for the man who hopes to topple the country's current president, Hugo Chavez, from power.

Police in Caracus estimated that some 9,000 people turned out in the city to take part in the march backing social democrat Manuel Rosales, the main opposition candidate standing against left-leaning Mr Chavez in Venezuela's December presidential election.

Addressing his supporters at a rally, Mr Rosales, governor of Venezuela's oil-rich western state of Zulia, accused Mr Chavez of surrendering the country's material wealth to foreign powers and played on public fears over the president's close relationship with Cuban leader Fidel Castro.

"They say the Venezuelan people rule - that's a lie," said Mr Rosales, in comments reported by the Associated Press news agency.

He added that the Venezuelan government was a "puppet of a communist, totalitarian system" and accused ministers of "governing from Cuba".

Mr Rosales, 53, also claimed that health, food and education programmes instigated by Mr Chavez since the start of 2003 at the cost of billions of dollars only favoured the president's supporters.

Yesterday's opposition rally was the largest seen in Venezuela since critics of Mr Chavez held a protest in 2004 in an attempt to oust him from power in a recall referendum.

Hugo Chavez? Did you see the people in his own country taking to the streets against him? If the whole world loves someone who believes in imprisoning/killing dissenters, they need to take a cold hard look at themselves.
