for the same reasons why hundreds of thousands of Americans protest here in our country.
although a state may officially ally themselves with another government, that doesn't prevent the individual citizen from disagreeing with their policies and/or practices.
duh!

Get real. There are about a billion people in those two countries. The fact that a hundred thousand protested is nothing. That's .01%. Which by the way is less than the percentage terrorists in Iraq make up of the total population.
Would you really want that small a percentage of the US dictateing what the other 99.99% of the people did? Actually we do have that --But at least those doing the dictating are elected.

The answer is very simple. You need to distinguish between the governments of these countries and it's peoples. These GOVERNMENT'S are friendly, that doesn't mean it's people have to be happy to be happy with President Bush or his policies. It's the same reason I've never quite understood American hatred of "the French." If the French government's policies have gone against the interests of the American government, that has nothing to do with the French people as a whole. I've been to France several times and have had nothing but pleasant experiences.

Those countries both have similar economic demographics. They have a few thousand aristocrats (billionaires) and a few hundred million peasants. Who do you think Bush is making pals with?
In this country, we are heading we are heading down the same path. The middle class is getting smallerr and smaller while the working poor class gets bigger and bigger.
