You are experiencing what is known as Sleep Paralysis—a common occurence where the paralysis of the body that occurs during REM (Dreaming) sleep lingers into waking experience. As you describe in your report—you wake up mentally—but your body apparently isn’t tuned to the same alarm clock: it stays asleep. For the record, so you don’t worry, be aware that Sleep Paralysis is entirely benign and usually lasts only a few moments—occasionally for a minute or two.

Oh yes! Plenty of times. This dream is especially frustrating especially when you're a peson who needs to be in control all the time. You say that you can control what you dream and tghe fact that you cannot control your dream in that state might be very frustrating to you and may cause tensio.
The first time i had that dream, or rather, the first memory of such a dream that i have is when i was about 14 and had lost a classmate to a car accident and the train of thoughts before i fell asleep were of death. I had that dream and honestly thought i was dying because i could not wake up even though i was wide awake. It was like i saw my body on my bed and could not lift myself up. I fought it until i could wake up. The funny thing is that you are actually fast asleep and in the deepest state of sleep. There is an actual term used for that kind of dream but i cannot remember it now. Next time you have such a dream try to relax and do not fight it and let it take you to where it wants you to go, you'll be surprised what you find out about yourself through your dreams. Don't control anything or any aspect of your dreams at all so that you are able to experience your dreams to the fullest.

I don't know if this is the same thing but... I woke up in bed once in the middle of the night. I was on my side and I felt as if someone had their arms around me (underneath me as well). Nobody was there. For about 20/30 seconds, but it seemed a lot longer) I couldn't move. I was as if I was paralysed. Then it disappeared and I turned round. I was quite disturbed by this feeling, only to hear on tv that apparently when you're in a deep sleep a chemical is released to paralyse you slightly so you can sleep better and sometimes people wake up and they can't move for a short while.

Yes I have. What it is called an out of body experience. Your soul is actually out of your body, either visting others, or it's hoovering around you. When you can wake up it's because your soul has not yet reentered your body and you are in a waiting state. If you can control this when it happens you are send your soul into other people dreams that you wish to visit, or you can create your own dream because you are more control over it

Lucid dreaming is great, aboriginals believe that the world in the dream is the real world. If you train yourself to direct your dreams, you will be able to make everything happen in them. It is a wonderful experience.
Now to the paralisis thing: It is called sleep paralisis and I had it myself. It is a scary thing at first, but it has a simple medical explanation.

Occasionally, I often dream about dreaming, if that makes sense I fall to sleep in the dream, and dream about something else. When coming out of it, I actually have to wake myself up twice - if that makes sense.
I find it odd, I don't find it scary, cause often these dreams are nice.

Yes, that's happened to me. I don't worry about dreams I have. Whatever, right?
Wait until you get to the point when you cannot remember if something really happened, or if you dreamed it.
