I here you! When I graduated in California (where the housing is upwards of $1200 a month for a crappy apartment, and that's not in LA) I started out making 28,000 per year which sounds good except not if you live in California. So then I got the bright idea of moving to Texas because the housing is more affordable, I ended up taking a $6000 per year pay cut. So now I'm going for my master's so I might be able to make, like, $30,000 per year. I'm sorry if I sound bitter but I now live in a place where people that couldn't care less about making the world a better place are paid top dollar (with no education I might add) and I work at a University (as support staff) and I make nothing. It sucks. I've thought of taking up stripping. The pay is better and i'd be able to pay off my school loans.

I just graduate a year ago and I was looking for work for about 7 months. I finally found a job in public health and I was very fortunate. I get paid almost $10 000 more than they told me to expect at school. I live in Canada and earn just over $56K annually. It is also good living in my town, which is small and housing is very affordable.

Although this is only a year contract because I am covering a maternity leave, so if anyone has any tips to find a new job let me know!

Thanks
