Car has a sun roof. I checked the rubber on the doors and didn't find anything strange. The sun roof is always shut properly. Is there a way to find the leak? Will taking the car to a dealer or mechanic help? How much would it cost to fix the leak?

check your sun roof for any gunk or trash on the seal or around it and clean it out see if that helps ya.

Assuming you don't have a hole in the roof for an antenna or sunroof, then the leak is probably from the window gasket, probably near or at the top of the window. Look for cracks in the black plastic molding along the edges of the front and rear windows. It might be possible to seal such a crack yourself with glue from the local auto parts store; if it's necessary to remove the window and install a new seal, it will be $300+.

i own a repair shop,,and the first thing you need to find out is it water or anti freeze,,if its anti freeze it probably has a bad heater core in it,,if its just water it may have a leak around the bottom of the wind shield or ar a side glass leaking on it,,you,ll know it of its anti freeze it will make the front glass all messy and fog it up real bad,,if its just water it will dry up when you use the defroster on it,,you might want to take it in and have some one look at it just to be sure about it,,at least they can tell you for sure what it is,and then you can repair it or have it done,,if its a heater core its a pretty good job to do,,good luck i hope this help,s.

i own a repair shop, and its possible it is leaking from the sunroof on it,they have 4 drains on them one in each corner of the sunroof and if any one of those get stopped up with leaves or dirt it will leak,i have repaired a lot of them with sunroofs in them, and it always seems that the drains get stopped up real easy on them,it may also be coming in a vent if you leave the air conditioner set to vent or mid flow it opens up the out side vent on it,and sometimes the vacuum wont release it,so a little will come in through there, other wise you may have to wet it down with a garden hose to see if you can see it leaking,i find a lot of them Tish way, good luck,,if you don't find it is take it to someone and have it checked ,it will rot the carpet out of it if it leaks long enough,i hope this help,s.
