I am pretty impatient so I just do stuff myself without asking anyone else for help, my hubby plays hell with me for not waiting until he gets home, I just have to do it myself.

All the time at my job. I get so tired of waiting on the co-workers to try and figure it out. It's easier if I just do it myself, then I guarantee that it's done and I won't have to see it come across my desk with a problem later on.

i see your female, and as such, have a natural tendancy to delegate.
Tell your fella to fix/do something, get a mechanic to look at your car, have someone else do your nails....
So its not suprising, people will let you down, and, the More you rely on other people, the more let down you will be, and they will not prioritise a job to your timeframe, as they are not you, hence, the job is not so imortant to them.
To have a job done to your standards, and have it as important to the doer, as it is to you, You need to be an excellent communicor, and motivator, Or, as you say, do it yourself.

many - at uni admin is like a brick wall. I tried to order a £15 book into the library - cheap by academic standards - but no joy, so I had to spend my own hard cash on it - at least its mine to keep.
