I have off-white kitchen tiles. When they were fitted they have some dark marks on them that the builder said was part of the design of the tile. How would I remove these stains/marks?

Try the Mister Clean Magic Erasers. They work really well on tile and grout.

a trick that works for scuff marks is a white artists eraser. It has to be the white one and you simply erase the marks and then clean the floor as you usually would. I dont' know what is creating the marks on your tile but this is inexpensive and worth a shot.
Good luck

Try AJAX with bleach toliet scrub and a plain old mop. It took red candle wax off of my white tile floors SO easily!

You will have to go over it after you get the spot up with water a couple of times to make sure you have all of the cleaner up off of the floor.

White spirits usually works pretty well but test on an invisible area first to make sure it don't mark your tiles.

If they are part of the design, there is nothing that you can do to remove them. If they are smudge spots, try a little bit of Comet cleanser with a damp rag and rub them off.

I've had success with a brass cleaning formula called Never Dull. Its not spelled like that but it has removed 'smoke stack' marks from my floor from peoples shoes. It might help.
