I persona;y think that the plot of the first one left the path right open for Silent Hill 3's plot to be followed, where Harry lost his wife, his daughter and then finds a baby on his doorstep which he raises as Heather.

They left the door open for one BUT they also took the first three games to make the movie, which would imply no sequal as nothing to base it on.

yes two reasons. 1 that incredibly bad wide open ending, it would be odd if there wasnt one. 2 come on look at mainstream cinema these days, everythings a trilogy.
