I have a gold watch that I've noticed is leaving a black mark where it rubs again my wrist. I usually leave it on to wash my hands and think this might be causing a reaction but not sure. Any suggestions?

I would, for a metal band, use an old toothbrush and some dish detergent and scrub it real good. Get in between the links and rinse thoroughly.
If it's some other kind of band then change it. They are not all that expensive and not worth the trouble if it's plastic. I personally love 'Twist-o-flex' bands.
If you are showering or washing your hands with the watch on and it causes the black mark you may have a plated band and not solid gold. If you are like me and get reactions from inexpensive metals that cause a rash or something like that- consider an upgrade.
Have a great day!!!

Some people are allergic to gold jewelry--it leaves a black stain on their skin. Unfortunately, it seems that you are one of those people. The only remedy for you is to stop wearing gold jewelry and wear something else. You may need a leather strap for your watch, or you may use a sterling silver band if the gold band bothers you too much.

All the best,
Fay

It probably is plated gold. You should paint clear fingernail polish on it. that will stop some of the marks. If it is real gold, you need to get some more iron (the vitamin) in your system.
