I"ve always had a gun permit, we all should, the law says though, that I can carry my pistol in the car, but the bullets have to be in the trunk or the glove box,cute-right,its the ones that don't have the permits we have to worry about, would not think twice of protecting myself, if I felt in harms way, or if I seen a child being abducted, I go to the target range every few months, to be sure I can still achieve a accurate hit, if need to, Only had to show it once, he was shocked, sure he ran home and changed his undies, and do have a gun cabinet here at home, but also have bows in there for hunting,

Hmmmm, I would have to say I'm against it, not because the person carrying it may be irresponsible, but it may literally fall into the wrong hands. You could be on the subway and not knowingly drop your gun, only to have some child pick it up and experiment with it. Or perhaps you might bump into someone who was having a really bad day and you drop your gun, chances are that he won't let that gun slide. For every good reason to carry a handgun, there are many more reasons to not carry a handgun. Its best to leave it to the professionals, they have the training and ability, not like ordinary civilians have.

I think it's not a good idea. I'm sure many civilians are competent and responsible, and would be perfectly capable of carrying a concealed weapon. But... think of all the nut jobs. I mean, just stand at the gas station for 10 minutes and watch some of the people that come and go, do you really want any of them to be allowed to carry a concealed weapon? I think not.

Because SCOTUS has declared the police don't have to respond. Because if the PD does respond the average response time in Los Angeles is fifteen minutes, in this state it can take upwards of thirty minutes for a deputy to respond. It takes only thirty seconds for a person to bleed out from a slashed neck.
We have had mountain lion attacks in this state, I'm to old to fight off with a knife, let alone my barehands.
There are plenty of criminals that will kill you even if you do give them your money. Plus, their criminals; you can't trust they will spare your life.
As long as I've carried I've found out I'm actually nicer and am longer suffering than before I carried.
We are more apt to have animal atttacks rather than bad guys attacking us because they realize that they might meet a .45 in their face. Basic human nature; they go for the path of least resistence. An armed "victim" is the hard way.
The key is training, training, training.

I am for it. There would be alot less crime if more or all people carried concealed guns. Do you honestly think that a robber/ anyone would attack you if he/she knew before hand that you you were carrying a pistol.
