Why aren't people nice anymore?

People are to caught up in their own self gratification to care about other people.If everyday we all just stop and think about one other person the world could be a little bit nicer. People even raise their kids with dog eat dog attitudes not Morales.

Nice? As in 1940's and 50's nice? Well a few things come to mind. Tech for one. No one talks to each other anymore. We all communicate via cell phone, PC or texting. Nice people are hard to find, true....but we are still out there.

We have become obsessed with THINGS...new cars, the latest model TV, DVD, I POD, furniture, bigger house, finer clothes, more, more, more material things. We have let ourselves get overwhelmed with making more money so we can spend more money so we can drive faster, look younger, run, run, run. We don't have time for our families, our children, our friends, our faith, our neighbors. We've lost our way in the maze of material wealth until we've lost the joy of living. We are so stressed out in the rat race of our lives that we aren't as polite, as loving, as compassionate, as helpful or as nice as we once were. We're overwhelmed with worry about the next hurricane, tornado, flood, how to pay all the bills, when the next terrorist attack will be and where it will be and how we'll deal with it. We've got gangs in our streets and killers in our schools. We've got pedophiles next door and a murderer four houses down. Our children are disappearing from their beds and ending up dead in a shallow grave. We don't have time to nurture our spouses so they look for attention elsewhere. That's just some of the reasons people aren't nice anymore.

Ahh, there are still a lot of nice people in the world. It's easier to notice the bad though, just look at the news. When you relax a little and step back, you'll see many more good things and people in the world. It's all a matter of perspective.

People don't seem to make an effort much anymore. A lot of girls would rather be a Biatch then being caring and kind. I try to be a happy person and make people smile and feel good about themselves.

because now days everybody is to worried about everything they have to do to be nice and curteosto everybody else surrounding them. Thats why everytime I go somewhere i give a smile to someone actually everyone. To show that i am not to busy to not see them or anyone else accept myself. Life as an american is very hard but there is nice people still out there.

its the world we live in today look around at some of thing that go on like all this school shooting people are numb i try to be nice most of the time and treat people the way i want to be treated but this is avery goood question my wife has cancer and her family are suspose to be christians that havnt even came to see her or to come pray with her its not a good world right now for me or my wife

Because we threw out our values out the back door. Being nice takes a lot of effort. And if you are suddenly nice to someone they begin to wonder what are you up to.
