You have it slightly the wrong way around. You are in their catchment area. Check with the local education people for the name of the school, as your daughter will automatically be allocated a place at the right time.
You can however apply to other schools as most will take a few from outside their own area.

Siblings can automatically follow each other though the same schools.

Congrats on being a responsible parent.

Contact your local education authority they will provide you with a list of schools in catchment area.
Ask other moms around your area is a good way of sorting out good from bad.
Pop in the local schools to find out usually it is within a 2 mile radius.
Go to a parent and toddler group to meet other moms they will know abot nursary as well as she needs her name down for that.
Ask your health visitor about nursary places as they are sort after and having a nursary place wil give her a good start for school.
Good luck

Louise, what are you talking about - are you saying that your daughter is one year old and you are thinking of where she will be going when she is 3 (nursery placement) or 4 (reception year in Key Stage 1).
Either way your best course of action would be to apply to your local education authority and then, closer to her admission date, have a look round some of the schools to see which would best suit your daughter.
