How's everyone doing? Ever since I started my new job 3 months ago, there's something that's been bothering me. I share an office with the same co-worker. We are both under the same title at the office, but the problem is: everytime there's a project to be done, he is always giving the project to my co-worker like if I don't exist. What should I do? I have more experience than this person, and also a degree which my co-worker doesn't have. I am already considering to get another job.

Get another job life is too short to bicker with a co-worker. And obviously this other person does not respect your education enough to be of any significance . so please do yourself a favor and get another job else you will be forever trying to get over this co-worker thing and it will make you bitter.

Have you tried talking to your boss and reminding him that you have more experience/qualifications? Perhaps it's not about you? Perhaps your boss is trying to give your other co-worker some more learning experiences since you already know how to do the jobs/projects...the co-worker could use the experience. Offer the co-worker some help and insight if it's okay with your boss. Don't take it personal until you've found out for sure what's going on and if this is what your boss has in mind. I'm betting anything that it's not about you.....the boss is helping the co-worker.

Have you ever heard of office politics? Its sometimes harsh and rough - this other person might be playing the office politics game better than you - who is this person to the boss? They may have an outside friendship or maybe related somehow? OR they are just really good at kissing the bosses butt - if your not happy move on - work so that you are happy in your job

A degree and experience does not necessarily mean you are more qualified. if you feel that you are having a problem you need to speak directly to your boss about it. He may not feel as though he is being biased or that your job skills match those of your coworker. The only way to be sure is to ask him.
