It is when the egg implants in the fallopian tube and not in the uterus. This causes a great deal of pain. It is found within the first 3 months of pregnancy as more the baby grows the more intence the pain. Please go to your doctor as soon as possible if you think you may be experiancing any problems as it is very dangerous to your own health and may cause problems for any future pregnancy.

People already answered the What is it part so i'll answer the how do you know part, which is sometimes you don't until your fallopian tube ruptures which is what happened to the woman down the street and she had to have her tube and ovary removed, but still concieved a year later and had a healthy baby boy. Also if you are concerned this is something that an ultasound would show.

Ectopic is anything outside of the uterus. and there is usually a lot of pain with them as the fetus grows. your body does not expel the baby like a miscarriage. you can either require surgery or have methotrexate injection. . . . unfortunately i had one in July of '05 and the injections worked for me. with me i had blood work done for a ct-scan and found out i was pregnant but then started my period on the day i was supposed to. so if u think you might have 1 go get blood work to have your hcg checked. the picture is my baby i just had so you can still have children.

An eptopic preganacy is when the egg is fertalized in the ovarian tube, not in the uterus. These can be very dangerous if not caught early. They can cause your ovaian tubes to burst and cause infertility. If an eptopic pregnancy is to occur, it is imperative to have the pregnancy terminated. You will know if you have one when you for your first check-up and they do an ultrasound.

I believe this is when the egg is fertilized in the fallopian tube. This type of pregnancy is very dangerous and most doctors terminate. Your doctor ought to have told if you had previous pregnancies.
