there has been a lot of refining of existing tech but i can't think of anything brand new
like i said ( all of the above date back more than 10 years some more than 30 ) Broadband is not tech but an application BUT advances in fiber-optic switching and transmission , even though not new, are driving the world and the same with radio transmissions ( ethernet )
but the winner would have to be tracking chips
