It just seems to me that they are allowed to pull over anywhere (without indicating), U-turn whenever they feel the urge (without indicating), switch lanes (without indicating), drive in two lanes at once, stop whenever and basically do what they want? Where can I be trained to drive with such levels of skill and dexterity?

They are trained using the same highway code as us, they are just to stupid to remember it........
The same could be said for women as they stop at every roundabout, even if there aren't any cars within 10 miles of them !!!!!!!
Oh and the fact that they don't know how to drive on a dual carriageway/motorway......
you don't constantly drive in the overtaking lane but obviously it is to much for there little minds to know that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who are you to question the ability of said professional drivers? I bet you drive a BMW! They have no indicators either. If you really want to drive as expertly as a taxi or bus driver, get a BMW. You may also drive these in bus lanes whilst using a mobile phone it seems.

No,but taxi drivers only have the limited training that car drivers have.
I am an H.G.V driver and also a P.C.V driver,and qualified h.g.v and p.c.v instructor but mainly drive trucks as bus passengers are a different species altogether.
But bus drivers do have the right to signal out and by them putting their hand out of window to tell you they are pulling out is lawful,in fact if you don't stop to let them out you are breaking the law.
Its in the bit of highway code most car drivers never see,its in rules of road section,and its even helpfully printed on back of most buses here in U.K.
There are good and bad drivers in all types of vehicles,i agree that some shouldn't even have a licence if indeed they do have one at all.
buses and trucks also have the right to take up 2 or more lanes depending on what action is required to do the manoeuvres.
Its up to car drivers as well as us professionals to watch and take action as needed,and i have actually had morons in cars and on bikes,driving up my blind side of my artic as I'm turning,its madness and it resulted in one guy being really hurt,and then banned from driving for failing to observe.
Its a jungle out there.Lol.

You want the taxi-driver training? Okay here it goes.
1. Purchase Magic tree air freshener.
2. Insert key into ignition and turn, engine should start.
3. Drive.
The end. That's all the training you need. Those little stick things at the side of the wheel, nah you don't need them. Now go to it.

I agree they do exactly what they please, try putting a huge long ariel on your car, put some dodgy seat covers on and a no smoking sign in your window don't forget weird dangly things from rear view mirror and get in and drive this should help, if you are still tempted to indicate remove all the bulbs.

I have my PCV licence and we have to take a very strict test, Motorbikes on the other hand must have different speed limits to the rest of us.
