As a conservative, (I no longer consider myself a Republican due to the party's lack of standing up for itself), I believe that we went to Iraq with the right intentions. Promote democracy, Remove Hussein, and to fight terrorism. But as time goes on, more and more people have war weariness. I believe that with our military forces at the status quo, we could take on two of these nations at the same time, but ONLY 2. With 3, our forces would be spread too thin. I believe that even though as I agree, civil war in Iraq is inevitable; We must stay. We are currently fighting radical Islamic extremists and we must stay there as terrorist networks are slowly falling apart due to constant combat. Terrorists employ "hit and run", guerilla, and sneak tactics, while we are killing the leaders of their infrastructure. The other country we must focus on is N. Korea. They already have confirmed nuclear weapons and must be stopped. Also, If we attacked Iran (In any way, tactical strikes, invasion, etc.) OPEC would go crazy and the price of oil would be higher than it ever has been before. This would have drastic effects on the economy. But we must stay in Iraq, even though there are consequences for staying in, there are worse consequences for drawing out.

I am not a Conservative Republican, but I would hope that no matter what your political affiliation is you would see that this war was not well thought or planned. It should be extremely plain now why the Senior Bush did not take Saddam out when he had the chance. Saddam, for all his evilness ( which we knew about even during the Reagan years) kept the region stable. In fact even with his little invasion into Kuwait he actually helped the US from an international standpoint. It also should be clear that you cannot force a nation into democracy, it is not something that can be ordered through a fast food drive in. Democracy takes years of struggle and suffering, not by another country, but by your own citizens wanting, desiring and needing liberty and freedom. They have to be willing to pay the price, no other country can do it for you.

I am not certain any longer if staying in Iraq is a good idea. Before going in the US should have seen who would be able to take over for Saddam. I don't think there is such a person in Iraq and the situation with Iran is not helping.

No one with even half a brain would think Iraq is not in Civil war now, Only people as stupid as Bush, Cheney and Rummy would say they are not in civil war. Bush, Cheney and Rummy are in fact brain dead, they know nothing about war, they are all draft dodgers.
The Iraq war will cost working class tax payers $2 trillion over ten years. We have a $9 trillion national debt. which the working class will also pay over the next ten years. China, Iran and North Korea will just wait til we go belly up like Russia.
In the end no matter what we do in Iraq Iran will control that country. Iraq is a no win war. We need to leave now.

Not terribly thrilled, as you might suspect.

On the other hand, the Dems plans always centered around 'do as little as possible and hope the problem will go away' - which, it turns out, is just what Sadly Insane was counting on.

And, to this day, the Dems can articulate NO meaningful plan for the war on terror - they continue to be content with mouthing the same-o, same-o: We're not George Bush. Well, bully for them, but WHAT WILL YOU DO ONCE YOU'RE IN POWER, HUH?!?

I doubt they know. The so-called leadership of the Dems is remarkably weak at this time and I shudder to think what we'll end up with if they take over. One thing is for sure - it will be entertaining as he!!.

If the make it they have proven that they truely want to be Americans. We speak American let them learn the to speak American.

Republicans believe we need to win in Iraq no matter what it takes. More troops, huge weapons. Whatever it takes. Civil War is not inevitable. You want to see what a civil war looks like, look at Africa.

"It is not his fault" is what I've heard...

Only a fool goes to war not knowing for sure that he'll win it. War is not *that* unpredictable.
