Is this a toy? Sounds inventive! I'd recycle parts out of an old child's toy. The string would attach from the mousetrap hammer to the drive axle. Wind the string around the axle with the trap set, then when the trigger is touched, the spring loaded hammer will pull the drive string, making the 'car' run.
Mousetrap platform=chassis
metal rod connecting the two drive wheels= Drive axle.
Steering assembly as you choose to build it=steering axle.
Mousetrap Motor=lever arm=hammer.

Use CD discs front and rear. If you want a smaller front wheel use those mini discs. You can buy axle/hub adapters on the 'net' Very few hobby shops will have them but might be able to order for you. The fishing line simply wraps around the rear axle.
