Actually No.
The plan of their own experiment was existent. However, they didn't make it.
The laboratory was bombed and destroyed by US air force on May 15 1945.
It was just 3 month before ending of WW2.

There is some evidence to suggest that the Japanese may have had a minor test towards the end of WWII. I suggest you check a book entitled "Strange but True" by jack seward who lived in Japan for years. The American Army did in fact find some cyclotrons used for the enrichment process in South Korea.

There are some Japanese who say they did test a small bomb but my guess is that if they ever did, NO ONE would ever tell the truth now.

No. Two Japanese cities were bombed by America during WWII: these were Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

FWIW, the impetus for the creation of the atomic bomb in the U.S., called the "Manhattan Project," came partly because the U.S. and its allies were afraid the Germans were developing this technology, as well.

No but they were getting close to figuring out things....a German sub was packing Uranium to Japan near the end of ww2....hummmmm

Japan didn't explode one, we exploded one (actually, 2) on them.
