I was married mean u r already married(few days or months back) while saying this.One more meaning of this sentence is u r married in past but now u r alone but u r married.Both u asked r the same thing.

It depends on the context of the situation. You could say I was married last week or I was married June 10, 2000 and this implies that this is when you had your wedding.

Was...key word. if you said you were married, then you are divorced. If you was married when you said it, you are still married after you say it. Being, getting, are, and am, are more definitive words to describe the state of mind of marriage.

you WAS married if you got a divorce. you ARE married if you haven't. you GOT married if you are talking about when it happened.

"I was" implies you are no longer "I am" implies you currently are.
