Dumbest thing i ever herd. Your heart is a muscle, and when your in good health, no heart disease or circulatory problems, it is good to work your heart muscle, just like any other muscle. Keeping your heart rate down by not breathing or slower breathing will contribute to many other diseases that could cause you to die at an earlier age

You are somewhat right. But as you have told the oxidization process wont make you get older or younger. The supply of more oxygen is just to enhance your metabolic processes to meet the energy needs.

The slow breathing which you have mentioned is actually a technique called as "Yoga Swaasaa" or in modern scientific terms "Alpha Breathing". This is the technique followed by saints in the olden days. That's why they lived more than 100 years youthfully.

An average human breathes 15-18 counts per min and the average life is around 70 yrs. But for a tortoise its 9-10 counts per min and the life span is 150 yrs. Similarly for whales it is 1 in 10 minutes and accordingly 300yrs of life time. So your breathing counts your life span.
Why you will look younger is, this kind of breathing will keep your body and soul calm and poised and also will revitalize all your organs and reduce their wear and tear.

So start practicing this technique whenever you are free. Its like inhale and exhale as slowly as possible.
