you usually ovulate 14 days after the first day of your last period. In other words if you got your period on the 1st and you have a normal 28 day cycle, then most likely you would ovulate on the 14th, therefore the most likely time for you to concieve would be the 12th - 16th. You can also look this up on line and different cycle times vary a bit. When you get good at it and keep track you can actually feel the changes in your body and know that you are ovulating. There are also books out there that will say that the closer to the ovulation date you have sex the more likely you will be to have a boy, but I can tell you after trying to have a girl I now have 4 boys, so really you take what you get and your happy their healthy.

the week before you menstrual cycle is when your most like to conceive. they have test in the store that tell you when you are ovulating also that help with the process. if you were on birth control you have to give it three months to get out of your system before you can expect to conceive but that isn't always the case
