The cheapest way is probably by bus... I did a similar trip (Krakow - Prague) and i took the night train. It was really cheap (i don't remember how much), but it's impossible to sleep, i was asked for my ticket and my passport over a million times during the night! And the train only had a couple people, it's not really the safest place to be...
The fastest way is obviously by plane, but the only cheap airline i know in that area is wizzair, and the only matching flight they have is Warsaw - Budapest.
Have a nice trip!

Ignore them--they're idiots.

Trains are cheaper than planes but I've researched this and it's a long train ride from Prague to Warsaw if you're short on time.

I am sure the Czech airline flies between the two cities so faster, but more costly.

Have fun! I'm heading to eastern europe myself the end of November--will probably be having a heaping plate of perogis for Thanksgiving dinner hehe

Cheapest - the train, fastest - by air. I would be careful if you are traveling alone. The trains can be very sketchy. When I was in Poland I tried to avoid night trains, it can be dangerous. But if you are with a group of people, you can take turns in sleeping. If you don't mind spending money, you can fly over there. Have fun!

Cheapest is by train (assuming you don't count walking, cycling or hitch hiking). Fastest is by air.
The train journey is probably the more fun of the two and allows you a decent time to enjoy the views and a nice book.
