I am on birth control, have been for about six months. I recently switched birth controls and the first month I had my period a day early (while still on birth control) and now this month it has been three days since I've taken my birth control. I am expecting my period and just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I took a pregnancy test last weekend and it came out negative. If I were pregnant, it would've been from at least two months ago so I know this isn't a late period. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced a period that was later than normal with birth control.

it shouldn't take too long. My mother was on birth control for 7 years and the doctor said that it would take 6 months to a year when she got off of it to ovulate again. Within a month she was pregnant. So it really depends on the women and how her genes are.

If you have changed pills, this could be entirely normal. I have been on the pill for years and used to regularly get my period on day 3. Now that I am older (over 40) I sometimes get it on day 4. Also, read the warning label. If you suspect you are pregnant, you should NOT be on the pill.

Some times when you change pills it puts your hormones out of whack and you have to give it time to straighten out. There were a couple of times where i didnt have a period at all. Talk about a freak out :)
Your probably not preggers just give your body time to adjust to the new pills

Your supposed to have your period while on the placebo. Some women dont, and it can take your body time to adjust to the hormone levels in the new pill.

pregnancy tests arent very accurate initially because the level of hormone it measures is low initially.
